Terms of Use
Last updated: 19 April 2026
Welcome to be.lievi.ng ("the Service"), an outreach & missions project of Mercy Court. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to the terms below. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. What the Service is
be.lievi.ng provides tools for reading and studying the Bible, writing personal study notes, sharing notes with others (where you choose to), and chatting with "Scribe," an AI study assistant. The Service is provided free of charge for personal, non-commercial study.
2. Your account
- You are responsible for the activity on your account and for keeping your password secure.
- You agree to use a real email address we can reach you at. We may delete accounts that use obviously fake or abandoned addresses.
- You agree not to use the Service to harass, threaten, or harm others, or to post content that is unlawful, hateful, defamatory, or that infringes someone else's rights.
- Accounts may be suspended or deleted by an administrator for violating these terms. On deletion, your email and handle become available for re-registration.
3. Your content (notes, profile, etc.)
You retain ownership of everything you write on the Service. By publishing a note (setting it to "visible") or sharing it with a brother or sister via a connection code, you grant be.lievi.ng and the people you share with a limited, revocable licence to display and — for fellowship-shared content — copy ("inherit") that note. You can revoke sharing at any time by hiding the note or disconnecting from a follower. Inherited copies persist in the recipient's library even after you revoke sharing, because they are their notes now.
4. AI features
Scribe, the AI rewriter, the note-import title generator, and the daily-verse curator send the text you provide (and, for Scribe, the relevant chapter/verse/Strong's/note context) to Google's Gemini API or to Ollama's cloud inference, depending on configuration. Those third parties may log the request for service operation. Do not submit private, medical, financial, or otherwise confidential information to AI features.
AI-generated text (Scribe replies, rewrite output, auto-titles) is produced by a statistical model and may be inaccurate. You should verify any factual or theological claim before relying on it. AI output is not Mercy Court's official teaching.
5. Bible text and Strong's data
Bible translations available on the Service are imported from publicly-licensed sources. The KJV is in the public domain; other versions are shown under their respective licences. The Strong's Hebrew & Greek lexicon entries are public domain.
6. No warranty
The Service is provided "as is." Mercy Court and the contributors make no warranty that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose. Use it at your own discretion.
7. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the Service evolves. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and notify logged-in users at their next visit. Continuing to use the Service after an update means you accept the revised terms.
